United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of Norbert Strauss

Received by siblings Leo and Bessie Halberstadt (donor's cousins) from their parents in Frankfurt, Germany, 1941, England. Inherited by Norbert Strauss, 2009. Donated to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2010 by Norbert Strauss.

Scope and Content

Contains five letters written by donor's paternal aunt and uncle, Jonas and Frieda Halberstadt, to their children, Leo and Bessy, in England after their arrival via the Kindertransport. Also contains thirty-nine family photographs of the Halberstadt and Strauss families in Germany and the U.S.
