United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Collection, Gift of the Fort Custer Historical Society

The Ft. Custer Historical Society donated these photographs to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on 28 Sept. 2009. They found the photographs in their holdings with no provenance.

Scope and Content

Consists of six photographs taken after the liberation of Dachau on 27 April 1945. The photographs, which are identified on the verso, show corpses on a train, an SS officer beaten to death after liberation, and a photograph of an American soldier holding a Nazi flag in Schwabmunchen, Germany.
