Jessica Carroll donated this collection to the United Sates Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2011.

Scope and Content

Collection of documents, photographs, and clippings relating to Marta Hafner [donor's mother] and her experiences in Romania before, during, and after Holocaust. Includes newspaper clippings documenting her experiences; identification papers, including an ID identifying her as Jewish issued in Cernauti, 1942; and family photos. Marta Hafner was deported to Transnistria. She survived under the false identity Constantata Dumitrescu and worked at the Jagendorf Foundry. After the war she worked as a secretary for the US Army and married Cpl. Eugene Rothlauf in 1946. She came to the United States in 1947.
