This collection was transferred to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum upon the closure of the Hatikvah Holocaust Education Center in Springfield, MA, in September 2010.

Scope and Content

Consists of documents related to visiting Israeli dignitaries in New York City in the 1950s. Includes minutes of a meeting in preparation for a reception hosted by the city in honor of David Ben-Gurion in 1951, a letter preparing for the arrival of Shlomo Z. Shragai in March 1952, and a photograph with caption and press release of Shalom Kahalny, a marathon runner, carrying a torch of freedom in 1956.
