Yanelli, who was the Italian consul general at Johnstown, PA for thirty years, as he is expelled from the country. Crowds surround an older man, presumably Yanelli, to see him off. Taxis arrive at the pier; policemen and jounalists are present. According to the dope sheet, two of the men in the taxi are Dr. Manfred Zapp and Guenther Tonn of the Transocean News Service. This was a news service formed by Germany in 1915 to disseminate pro-German propaganda in the US. These two men and Transocean were prosecuted by the US Justice Department in 1941 for failing to register as foreign agents. The two are presumably being expelled from the United States as well.
