Div. XII Corps are assembled, briefed, and provided with picks and shovels. MSs, Russian officer speaks to German civilians through an interpreter. MSs, CUs, British officers supervise the exhumation and reburial of murdered prisoners by German civilians. MCU, MS, former Russian prisoners identify bodies. Several women are crying. CU, body of Russian woman killed by the Nazis. MSs, trucks carrying bodies, followed by procession of freed Russian civilians and group of German civilians, passing through streets. HASs, funeral procession. SEQ: sheet-wrapped bodies are reburied in memorial park near Hanover city hall. CUs, wreath is removed from front of truck. CU, card attached to wreath reading in Russian, German, and English: "Lest We Forget".
