Note(s)

  • The dates on the soldier's slates reading 4/10/45 and 4/11/1945 are incorrect. In the NARA notes, there is a comment about how the slate must have been wrong, but the erroneous date ended up in NARA and USHMM paperwork. The correct date is early May 1945.
