Scope and Content

Can 18, 100 feet. Meeting of the Sudeten-Deutsche party at Eger (Cheb in Czech), frontier town between Germany and Czechoslovakia. This meeting was particularly jubilant because two of the three German minority parties united and agreed to work under the leadership of Konrad Henlein. VS, overflow of the meeting who were unable to get into the hall. Listening to the speakers in the hall by means of loudspeakers outside in the cold. Overflow estimated at 5,000. Can 19. 100 feet. VS, INT of the meeting, showing the audience estimated at 15,000. Chief speaker was Ernst Kundt, leader of the Parliamentary faction of the Sudeten Party in the Lower House. Can 20. 100 feet. More shots of the interior of the hall with CU of picture of Konrad Henlein prominently displayed behind the main speaker's chair. The banner are the flags of the Sudeten-Deutsche Party, each small section has its own flag which was personally presented to Henlein. The flag is forbidden to be processed through the streets; as are uniforms. Flag bearers dress alike, white shirt, breeches and boots; they stand around the speakers' platform. Can 21. 100 feet. Two Czech officials attend the meetings, take notes for the government, have power to stop the meeting. They sit in uniform, immediately at the speaker's left.
