Reel 52, 100 feet. Two shots, different angles of the President's Palace in Prague. CU, flag on the President's Palace. CU, Czech officer in Italian uniform on duty at the Palace, this uniform is still worn by certain troops in memory of the Czech legion who fought with the Italian army in the war. CU, sentry. Can 74, 100 feet. Several shots of the changing of the guard at the President's Palace. A Czech army band followed by a company of the Czech Italian legion marching into the courtyard of the Palace, with the crowd watching. VS in the courtyard of the Italian legion taking over from the French legion. The Italians have feathers in their hats. Reels 60, 61 and 62. 300 feet. VS, taken in the garden of the President's Palace, Prague. The President and Madame Benes coming out, being saluted by Czech sentry in French uniform. This is worn by some soldiers in memory of the Czech legion who fought with the French in the war. Shaking hands with Mr. de Rochemont. VS of them walking in the gardens, looking over the wall at the city of Prague, calling their dog, etc. VS taken of the President sitting at a table while he made a speech in English and French. CU of Benes speaking. Excerpt of Benes' speech: "Our beautiful capital Prague with her conscience clear remains undisturbed and calm at the present time. And so remains her whole population and so remains at heart the entire Republic. We have been working hard during the last twenty years and we have tried and are still trying honestly to be just, as much as human beings can be. We hope that we shall have the international peace can be saved and honestly maintained by pacific means. "
