Tramways, pedestrians crossing bridge. Poster on which the four political parties are united with coat of arms: "United in the War. United in the Peace." Night scenes before the general elections in Prague: huge crowds spread over the main streets in Prague, loud speakers pour music, songs and political eloquence in the streets while tracts are distributed, streets covered with tracts. Civilian preparing vote in the "isoloir." Jan Masaryk, Minister of Foreign Affairs, voting. The bureau examining elector's cards. Several shots of people reading results of election on posters. A meeting of the "Comite Directeur" of the Communist Party: Gottwald holds meeting in headquarters; Nosek; party obtained nearly 40% popular vote; smoking, talking.
