Historical materials of the Kalynivske region (author's title by Zavodianyi V. D.)
Extent and Medium
Paper, photographs, printed materials and photocopies, handwritten notes, handwritten postal letters.
Acquisition
Materials were donated by local residents and representatives of the former local administration (decisions of the former Kalynivske village council, official documents of the local state collective farm).
Scope and Content
There is no description log, the collection needs to be analyzed and organized. Zavodianyi cannot quantify his collection, but mentioned 27 folders with documents of local organizations, an unknown number of typewritten documents and handwritten notes, photos, and letters from Israel from former residents of Kalynivske. He also provided for copying the memoirs of the head of the local military commissariat, Borys Lvovych Zeldin (Peklo), on 6 typewritten sheets regarding the events of World War II. Zavodianyi mentioned that he has letters from Lummar Volodymyr (Volka) Zusevych (Zakharovych), who talks about the probleblematics regarding the commemoration of Holocaust victims in the village of Kalynivske in the postwar period.
Appraisal
The collection is in disarray due to the Russian occupation of Kalynivske in 2022 and the floods on the Inhulets river after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in 2023. Zavodianyi plans to transfer the materials from the Second World War to the local museum in Kalynivske, from which the relevant exhibits were stolen during the Russian occupation of the village in 2022.
