Extent and Medium
Photographic paper, paper, xerox copies, self-made stands.
Archival History
The collection was started in the second half of the 20th century by a local chemistry and biology teacher, Klavdia Dmytrivna Guppa, who collected photos from the villagers. About ten years ago, the teaching staff made a journal description of the collection (systematized by year, by family members), which disappeared during the occupation. During the annual Holocaust remembrance days held in September, the museum's collection was replenished by modern descendants of former villagers. 30% of the collection was lost as a result of the Russian occupation of the village in 2022.
Acquisition
Photos and documents were donated by local residents. Materials collected on the territory of the village of Bobrovyi Kut. During the annual Holocaust Remembrance Days held in September, the museum's collection was replenished by modern descendants of former villagers.
Scope and Content
About 100 original photographs from the early to late 20th century with textual accompaniment. Of those photos, 4 are of local Jewish schoolchildren before World War II, and 18 photos depict local Holocaust victims. 10 self-made museum stands.
Appraisal
On 13-14.11.2022, for the first time after the de-occupation, school guard Ivan Zhuhan visited the school - the collection materials were scattered on the ground and on the floors of the school, and outside the school near the river. Fire extinguishers were deliberately sprayed in the school premises, and employees were unable to clean the contamination from this fire extinguishing agent. According to the museum staff, about 30% of the collection has disappeared after occupation in 2022, and they cannot calculate the damage without the inventory log, which has also disappeared. Also, on the basis of the museum's collection, students of grades 10-11 conducted historical research and participated in regional competitions on historical topics. The competition entries and part of the museum's collection were stored in electronic versions on school computers, which were also stolen during the occupation.
