Scope and Content
The embassy archives from Sweden's various missions abroad contain correspondence and diplomatic reports, including reports on the Nazi persecution of Jews and the Holocaust. There are also documents discussing Swedish entry and visa regulations for Jewish refugees. There are also sources dealing with Sweden's involvement in rescue operations in Denmark, Hungary and Germany.
The series include the archives of the Swedish legations in Berlin, Vienna, Prague and Budapest.
Conditions Governing Access
The newer diplomatic and consular archives may contain information that is protected by secrecy under the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400).
