The collection consists of 202 archival volumes of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs records concerning World War II, like the development of the war between Germany and the Soviet Union, restricted waters and other areas, mines and shipping obstacles in the Baltic Sea and other waters adjacent to Sweden, ceasefire and peace negotiations, foreign trade during the war, issues concerning Swedish volunteers, and much more. Among these records are also documents relating to the persecution of the Jews and the Holocaust. For instance, the series called D Humanitär hjälpverksamhet (Humanitarian aid activities) includes a number of volumes (HP 1586-1627) with documents from the years 1939-1951, organized by country. The series includes documents that illustrate aid sent by various organizations to ghettos and concentration camps in Germany and German-occupied countries, and Swedish participation in post-war relief. Among these records are files (HP 1618-1619) containing documents related to the Swedish Red Cross' actions with the so-called White Buses in 1945. It includes correspondence and important reports on the rescue operation and the preceding negotiations. The series T Interallierad hjälpkommission contains records regarding Sweden's contacts and cooperation with UNRRA.
