Scope and Content
The first document of the file is a note of a meeting from the 4th of November 1936. The person with whom the author met is blackened in the text, so that it became unreadable. The unknown person hands over a memorandum by Schmitt and minutes of the committee for criminal proceedings of the academic department. The committee will complete its work on the 4th of November 1936 and the findings will be reported to [Hans] Frank. The following two paragraphs report about Schmitt at the Academy of German Law. Schmitt's good relationship with [Hermann?] Schroer shown at the Conference on Jews is rooted in the fact that Schmitt was first Schroer's teacher and then his Ph.D. advisor. Schmitt is still looking for a good relationship with Gauleiter (disctrict leader) [Julius] Streicher, trying to win over some other influential persons for himself and looking for ways to consolidate his position. Soon the papers of the conference on Jews will be published. Schmitt is trying to show himself in good company with his fellow co-authors there, which are famous National Socialists. Also the second document of the file is a note of a meeting regarding Schmitt, this time from the 14th of November 1936, with the persons meeting and the author not being named or rather blackened. Schmitt is considering asking the Rechtswahrerbund (National Socialist Association of German Legal Professionals) for his dismissal. It also mentions a branch office manager [Alfons] Adams living in Madrid as being a catholic like [Theodor] Blahut and another catholic named [Erik] Petersen living in Rom that was talked about at a meeting with [Theodor] Blahut and [Alfons] Adams. Schmitt had met with [Erik] Petersen on his first trip to Rome wanting to work together with him, which did not work out in the end. The last page of the file contains handwritten notes that are faded and hardly readable.
