Some handwriting, but unreadable remarks on top of the note. A lecture by Schmitt about "the Jew Hugo Preuss, father of the Weimar constitution" is mentioned, which was also published under the title "Hugo Preuss, his definition of state and his position within German political science". Schmitt praises Hugo Preuss' independent spirit and states that the destiny of the German intelligence and culture is inseparably linked with the destiny of the Weimar constitution.In the 2nd edition of his book "Political Theology" Schmitt omitted some parts where he is affirmatively citing and praising Erich Kaufmann, who used to be a friend of his. With [Erwin Jacobi]Jakobi together Schmitt had represented the Reich/the von Papen government against Prussia in the 1932 case.With [Ludwig]Feuchtwanger (the brother of [Lion]Feuchtwanger),[Ernst Landsberg] and Hermann Heller he was also friends and spent a lot of time together with the emigrated Russian Jew Waldemar Gurian in Bonn.There was public bewilderment when Schmitt declared himself a leader of the struggle against Jewry in the field of law and held a conference of the Nationalsozialistischer Rechtswahrerbund (NSRB;National Socialist Association of German Legal Professionals) about Jewry in jurisprudence a week ago. He is well-known abroad as a major expert of National Socialist constitutional law, but so are his metamorphoses,which led to gloating jeer making him a shameful burden for the reputation National Socialist Jurisprudence abroad.A separation of the National Socialist Movement from Schmitt would mean removing a target of foreign attacks.
