Scope and Content

Collection of 13 letters, preceded by a title page of the Reich Main Security Office ("Sicherheitsdienst des RFSS. SD Hauptamt") with a stamp of the year 1936. The letters date from between 22.4.1934 and 15.11.35 and mostly deal with the person of Carl Schmitt. Authors of most letters are Bornhack, Becker, Emge, Gerland, Heckel, Hedemann, Hartung, Rumpf, Scheune, Schwinge and Thoma writing to Koellreutter, plus one letter where Koellreutter himself is writing to Mirow and another one by Rumpf to Walther. Main topic is the person of Carl Schmitt, his political attitudes, his beliefs and concepts regarding law and state and his character as a national socialist. The authors criticize him, part of them seem to be working against him in an intrigue, as they mention articles they have written, lectures they have held against Schmitt or comment on articles by somebody else (e.g. by Paul Müller in the October issue of "Schweizerische Rundschau") against him. They also mention having forwarded commantaries, letters or articles about Schmitt to other people of influence, e.g. to Reichsjustizkommissar (Commisioner of the Reich for Justice) [Hans] Frank or to Oberst (Colonel) Haselmeyer.
