United Restitution Organization (URO)

The file contains six circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt) ranging between November 1964 and January 1965. The circulars include the following issues: no. 1295, no. 1294, no. 1293, no. 1287, no. 1286a, and no. 1283. They mainly deal with recent court judgements on questions of restitution, especially regarding juridical regulations and procedures, professional damages and health damages following Nazi persecution, and damages to personal liberty. Furthermore, the file includes an expert report issued by the Institute for East-European Studies at the Free University in Berlin (Osteuropa-Institut der Freien Universität Berlin) regarding Antisemitism in Poland and the current danger for Polish Jewish citizens.
