United Restitution Organization (URO)

The file contains eleven circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt), dated between July and October 1966. The circulars include the following issues: no. 1446, no. 1443, no. 1442, no. 1439, no. 1440, no. 1438, no. 1437, no. 1436, no. 1434, no. 1433, and no. 1431. They mainly deal with recent court judgements on questions of restitution, especially regarding juridical regulations, Nazi persecution in Slovakia, the purchase power of the Israeli pound, the assessment of belonging to the German speaking cultural sphere, the questions if Austrian citizens should be seen as people who were expelled, and finally pensions.
