Scope and Content
The file contains the issues no. 9 and no. 10 of the URO News, the circular of the United Restitution Office (URO), from February 1950 and May 1950. The issue no. 9 mainly presents law texts regarding the restitution, current juridical cases and regulations on restitution matters in the Federal Republic of Germany, its various Allied-occupied zones, and in the Eastern part of Germany under Soviet influence. The issue no. 10 also provides legal information on the restitution practice in the Western parts of Germany. Both issues close with expert reports on restitution files and bibliographical information on recent literature on restitution matters. The URO News are mainly written in German, but might also contain parts written in English.
