Scope and Content
The Ludwig Dische papers are a collection of letters, drafts, copies, newspaper clips and biographical material about famous Jews from Czernowitz, Bukovina. The file includes a copies of various newspaper articles about the Bukovina and famous Jews from the Bukovina from the 70ies. Otto Habsburg writes about the University in Czernowitz in the "Südostdeutsche", The life of Mimi Grossberg is featured in "Die Gemeinde". In "Illustrierte Neue Welt" the life and work of the painter Jakob Eisenscher is discussed. Pages from the newspaper "Die Stimme" are included. It was a German paper published in Tel-Aviv for the Bukovina ex-pat community. It existed for 73 years and ceased to exist in 2017. Further, there are copies of the law gazette of the Duchy of Bukovina from 1861 (Nr. 2679) about new election guidelines and rules. It also includes the cover page of "Reichspost" from May 10th, 1916. The "Österreichische Apotheker-Zeitung" from April 9th, 1977 talks about Pharmacy at the former German university in Czernowitz. The file also includes a Romanian newspaper "Bucovina" from June 26th, 1943.
