Scope and Content

The file contains the verdict of the policeman Wenzel Hajek (born on 8 February 1908 in Unter-Nerestetz). In the fall of 1941 or in the beginning of 1942 the defendant got to know a Jewish woman called Gisela Hrones. They began dating – after a while she asked him about which measures are taken when someone is being searched for by the police. The defendant explained the procedure in great detail; thereupon, Gisela Hrones asked Wenzel Hajek to have a look into the register of fugitives. Being Jewish, her name was mentioned in this list. Nevertheless, Wenzel Hajek accommodated Gisela Hrones and supported her in every way he could. He was sentenced to death.
