Scope and Content
The file consists of three letters regarding „secret“ rules for citations of Jewish authors by the office of der Reichs- u. Preussische Minister für Wissenschaft, Erziehung und Volksbildung from 5.6.1937. The second letter includes a reprint of the letter by Prof. Baumgärtel arguing the necessity of Hebrew language teaching at German high schools, to ensure the high level of the academic standing of German Orientalists. The request was denied by the office of der Reichs- u. Preussische Minister für Wissenschaft, Erziehung und Volksbildung. The file also includes a newspaper article from the "Aufbau" journal (4.9.2003) about the discovery of stolen books by the Nazis in Nuremberg - the so-called "Stürmer-Bibliothek" used by Julius Streicher.
