Effect of the Nazi Bombing
Extent and Medium
2 electronic resources (25, 2 pages)
Scope and Content
The file is a compilation of quotes from German newspapers and publications on the bombings and air raids of London and Belgrade from a Nazi perspective. It reports with gloating and a feeling of superiority about the devastation by air raids in Croyden, Canterbury, Birmingham and other British towns. In Canterbury the population fled after the destruction of the airport and surrounding areas. One article describes the destruction of Coventry in vivid detail, an additional article is about The bombing of Belgrade. The events of the air raids on England are also the basis for adventure stories for German Youth. Each quote lists the newspaper or publication, number, publisher, place and date of publication.
