Germanisation of the Slavs
Extent and Medium
1 electronic resource (13, 1 pages)
Scope and Content
The file is a compilation of various quotes on the Germanization vs. Polonization of Eastern parts of the Empire. The quotes are from publications as early as 1891 and continue until 1941. They concern themselves with the "problem" of Panslavismus and how to stem the influx of Slavs and their culture in the border regions of the Reich. The quotes from the time of Nazi rule emphasize the importance of "Germanizing" the newly occupied territories through language training, administration, transportation and resettlement. Each quote lists the source, date, publisher and number of issue or page number.
