This file contains the very detailed, typewritten and roughly chronological memoir of Hans Schaefer, a German chemist, merchant and General Director of the Meyer-Kauffmann Textilwerke AG in Wroclaw. It was written between 1929 and 1934 and describes his childhood, his vocational training and adult life. The text also gives insight in how Schaefer experienced important historical events like the Kapp Putsch or the outbreak of the first World War. Additionally, there are several letters of his and his family attached to the document.
