United Restitution Organization (URO)

The file contains five circulars (“Rundschreiben”) by the United Restitution Organization (Frankfurt) from April and June 1973. The circulars include the following issues: no. 1799, no. 1804, no. 1800, no. 1801, and no. 1791. The circular no. 1791 is incomplete in this file, but is fully reproduced in the file "United Restitution Organization (URO) [various circulars] Rundschreiben März-April 1973" (system number 9933270398004146). The circulars mainly deal with recent court judgements made by the German Federal Court (Bundesgerichtshof) on questions of restitution after Nazi persecution, especially regarding juridical regulations and procedures for health damages following Nazi persecution, for example in the Krakow Ghetto, and more especially on the relation between health damages related directly to persecution and unrelated to the past events. The topics include: „Gesundheitsschaden“, „Zweitbescheid, Abhilfegesuch“, „Berufsschaden“, „Gesundheitsschaden, hier: Kombination verfolgungsbedingter und verfolgungsunabhängiger Leiden“.
