Scope and Content

The file consists of the first part of handwritten letters by Bertha Pappenheim, an Austrian Jewish feminist and founder of the Jewish women organisation, to Ottilie Schönewald, a politician and women's rights activist and Hannah Karminski of the Jüdische Frauenbund (Jewish Women Organization) during the year 1934. The correspondence between the women is mainly about the decision of B. Pappenheim to quit her position in the Jewish women organization, her reasons and how it could be prevented.
