Scope and Content
The file is the second part of a series of files containing various documents issued mainly by the Gestapo Offices in Düsseldorf between 1937 and 1943. The documents include circulars and instructions regarding the relations between Jewish and non-Jewish Germans, the treatment of Jews with foreign citizenship, anti-Jewish measures in everyday life (barber shops, broadcasting services, curfew, private relationships), the removal of citizenship and the entry to the Wehrmacht for children of Jewish and non-Jewish parents, and the confiscation of Jewish property. Furthermore, the file includes documents regarding the “Paulus-Bund”, an association of Christian converts. Finally, the documents also include various lists of members of the Jewish community in Goch (Adolf Devries, head of the Jewish community in Goch), and a letter from the Jewish community in Essen. Some documents are of poor quality.
