Scope and Content
The file contains various documents issued mainly by the Gestapo Offices in Düsseldorf between 1937 and 1943. The documents include circulars and instructions regarding the treatment of Jewish sport clubs, organizations, and religious communities. Furthermore, the file contains various documents on the confiscation of Jewish property and money, the handover of the Jewish communities’ records, a court judgement following the destruction of a Jewish cemetery in Kleve, a report on the events of the “Kristallnacht” in November 1938 issued by the SS in Geldern, and finally, a circular regarding the impossibility to resign from the Jewish community. Some documents are of poor quality.
