The file contains a typewritten historical analysis of 10 pages on the use of the term “Sonderbehandlung” within the SS. The text was written in 1960 by Helmuth Auerbach as a member of the Institute for Contemporary History (Institut für Zeitgeschichte) in Munich. Based on historical documents, he discusses the introduction and the uses of the term “Sonderbehandlung” as a synonym for “execution” within the bureaucratic circles of the “Reich Main Security Office” (“Reichssicherheitshauptamt”, RSHA) and the SS since 1939.
