Scope and Content

The assortment of files contains publications of two communist-leaning Anti-Nazi groups: the "Informationsblatt des Deutschen Antifaschistischen Komitees/ Boletín informativo del Comité Alemán Antifascista" published by the German Antifascist Committee ("Deutsches Antifaschistisches Komitee/DAK") in Uruguay between 1944 and 1946, as well as some issues published by the "Austrian world youth movement" (Österreichische Weltjugendbewegung) in London between 1940 and 1942. The issues of the" Informationsblatt des Deutschen Antifaschistischen Komitees/ Boletín informativo del Comité Alemán Antifascista" provide information for the German speaking Resistance community in Uruguay and other South American countries. Thematically, they mainly deal with the war events in Europe, the political postwar development and Germany's postwar order. The Bulletin also published testimonies from Germany as well as articles published in newspapers in postwar Germany. By its communist inspiration, the Bulletin closely follows the role of exiled politicians like Paul Merker in the Soviet-occupied zone in postwar Germany. The issues of “Jugend voran”, the publication of the Austrian youth in Great-Britain informs on the political activities and the fate of the Austrian community in Exile.
