The file contains an extract of two pages from a newspaper what appears to be the journal of the Berlin Jewish Community (“Gemeindeblatt der jüdischen Gemeinde”) published in Germany in spring 1923. Against the background of the economic crisis of 1923, the articles deal with the impact of the rising antisemitism on Jewish everyday life in Germany. They are both informing and warning the readers of anti-Semitic attacks and politics, explicitly referring to Adolf Hitler as the head of the Bavarian National-Socialists. The newspaper also published a letter by a Christian reader expressing his support to the Jewish Community.
