Scope and Content

The file contains the verdict of Jaroslaus Svoboda (born on 30 August 1913 in Prague). In 1944 Svoboda encountered a man who was completely soaked and in need of help. It turned out that the man was a member of the Communist party. He had shot a police man a day earlier and was on the run since then. The defendant promised that he would not report him but help him. The man asked Svoboda to deliver a message to a person in a store in Prague. Svoboda accepted his request but was arrested upon entering the store. Svoboda was found guilty of supporting and not reporting an enemy. He was sentenced to death in 1944.
