Extent and Medium
1 online resource (7 pages)
Scope and Content
The file contains the verdicts of Richard Šiška (born on 14 September 1897 in Prerau), Marie Ulrich (born on 2 February 1879 in Benov) and Božena Šiška (born on 5 October 1911 in Chikago). All three defendants were found guilty of illegal possession of weapons and munition. When a decree requiring all weapons to be handed over was put in place in 1939, Richard Šiška was still owning three guns and munition. He kept the weapons illegally for years. Even though Božena Šiška disapproved of her husband's actions she helped him hide the weapons. On one occasion she moved the weapons to a new hideout with the help of her mother-in-law Marie Ulrich. Richard Šiška was sentenced to death in 1944. Marie Ulrich was sentenced to three years of penitentiary. Božena Šiška was sentenced to two years of penitentiary.
