Scope and Content
The file contains an extract of the general weekly newspaper of the Jews in Germany (Allgemeine Wochenzeitung der Juden in Deutschland) published an extra supplement in May 1960 regarding reparations and the difficulty of recompense for health problems. The document addresses the difficult questions of how and whether the full extent of the harm done to the Jews can be determined. Irreparable harm was caused during the 12-year period of mental and physical oppression. The doctor who has to examine racially, politically and religiously persecuted people has to keep a very close eye on the past. He must take into account the methods of the Nazi regime and the resulting mental and physical suffer of their victims. In addition, the article deals with the basic consideration of the experience-related mental disorders after racial and political persecution.
