Scope and Content

The file contains the fifth part of documents which show a correspondence between Nazi leaders, Nazi local politicians and army leaders. The documents vary in leaflets, orders, transcription and letters. In this file mostly circulars for group leader and for military as well as for ideological training in and around Freiburg im Breisgau are attached. Furthermore several announcements by Abschnittsleiter Müller and Franz Kerber, who was mayor of the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, issued by the Kreisleitung der NSDAP Freiburg regarding the loss of earnings of cleaners and air protection regulations for this area. Also a circular from the district propaganda chief of Freiburg im Breisgau regarding slogans, which should be painted on streets and houses is attached and a continuation of the propaganda work is sought. A letter from the Kreisordnungsamt (organization office) informs about the new work force for the Schanzaktion. Workers were freed from other companies, which are now being assigned by the group leaders and have to be checked on a daily basis. Two circulars inform about rumors and how group leaders should deal with them. These rumors are related to the image of Americans, the construction of military buildings and none nationalist discussions that undermine the morality of the people and their solidarity for the NSDAP. The NSDAP in Karlsruhe closed confessional bookshops for political reasons, which is why they sent a circular to the Gauleitung. Other documents inform about future group leader training, as well as about the following activity reports in Strasbourg, Konstanz, Molsheim and Gau Baden–Elsass.
