Scope and Content

The file contains the verdicts of 16 persons involved with a resistance group called SOS in the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia. The group's purpose was amongst others collecting weapons for active resistance, producing ammunition, obtaining information, distributing leaflets and other sabotage activities. Four defendants were accused of being members of the resistance group. These included the organiser of the group Miloš Mejsnar, Wenzel Strnad, Bohdan Dlouhý and Josef Třešnák. They were sentenced to death in 1944. The defendant Miloslaus Vrba was found guilty of giving two weapons to Mejsnar and sentenced to five years of penitentiary. The rest of the defendants were found guilty of failure to report a crime and support of enemies. Amongst those Josef Petru, Franz Řehák, Franz Studecký, Beatrix Švehla, Johann Matuna and Stefan Pulda were sentenced to death. The defendants Josef Frydrych and Georg Janda were sentenced to six years of penitentiary. Elisabeth Matuna and Elisabeth Pulda received a sentenced of four years of penitentiary, whereas Magda Matuna was sentenced to two years of penitentiary.
