Scope and Content
The file contains several reports regarding the situation of Jews and anti-Jewish activities in 1942 in various countries. Each report is based on the situation and activities of one specific country but the structure of the report varies. Some reports are based on newspaper or survey informations published in the particular country or investigated abroad, mostly in the United States, other reports are based on witness accounts. Individual reports are mostly based on the infromations of people who escaped or emigrated (mostly to the United States). These surveys are given for Poland, Holand, Belgium, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia (Bohemia and Moravia), Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Yugoslavia. Different informations are given for each country, some reports are giving a lot of details about several topics others are very short and only based on some newspaper information or on received letters. In all of the discribed countries anti-Jewish policy has been very much intensified in 1942 and it clearly aimed at the entire segregation and ultimate deportation of all Jews as rapidly as possible.
