Scope and Content
The file contains 14 reports (Frankreich-Berichte) on France from April 1938 till June 1940. The reports are divided into chapters, some of them by dates and other by topics. All of them regarding the political and social situation in France between 1938 and 1940. Furthermore domestic and foreign politics as well as politicans and their strategies have been discussed. Also the invasion of Poland and the occupation of Czechoslovakia are topics. The labour and the Anti-fascism movements in France as well as activities of the Comitè Franco-Allemande are also mentioned. One report is written as an diary and discribes the experiences of a German Socialist emigrant, who joint the French Labour Service and was placed under the British Army in Brittany. In his diary he explains his march to the south from the time of the collapse of French resistance until his arrival in unoccupied territory.
