Scope and Content

The file contains several newspaper cuttings in German and English regarding the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiter-Partei. The newspaper articels and some letters are published in the years of 1933 and 1934. Most of the press-cuttings are from the 'Central-Verein Zeitung; Blätter für Deutschtum und Judentum, allgemeine Zeitung des Judentums'. There several topics have been discussed like 'work for the German Jews', 'against the despicableness of a whole country', 'the delinquent Jew' and general news about the situation in Germany. Also articels in the 'Kösliner Zeitung: Kösliner Nachrichten. Allg. Pomm. Volksblatt. Bublitzer Kreis-Zeitung' are attached, this was a party newspaper of the N.S.D.A.P. It reports about general political news from Germany and all over the world. Furthermore the 'Sonntags-Beilage: der Nationale Zeitung', also a nationalistic newspaper, published articels about the politics in Germany, its future and about the development in Palestine. Besides topics like 'what is an aryan' and 'the situation of non-aryans' have been discussed. Press-cuttings from newspapers abroad mostly express criticism on the policy in Germany as well as on Hitler. In adition a letter of Mrs. Elisabeth Engelin, the granddaughter of the poet of the 'German Song' (Deutschland-Liedes), can be seen. In this letter she asked if she can order a Jewish newspaper and could help Jews, as she always had a close relationship and trust to Jews and can not understand why this should change now.
