Scope and Content

The file contains several documents regarding the Weimar Republic, which lasted from 1919 to 1933. The concept of the first report is to give a general idea about Germany and its people. The world could learn a great deal about the German character and the German social and political life by examining the history of the Weimar Republic and the causes of its failure, so the author argues. The report is devided into different parts, the first one discusses the revolution of 1918, it follows a chapter about the Weimar construction, the treaty of Versailles and the anti-republican forces in Germany, also the problem with the reperation payments and within the inflation are mentioned. The report finish with a chapter about the failure of the Republic. The second report affiliates historicly on the first one. The author discusses the German mentality and the Nazi influence during the Weimar Republic and after. For that its important for the author to give a quick summary of the historical development, about the happy memories of authoritarian rule and unhappy memories of the democratic experiment. Furthermore some hand written pages at the end of the file can be seen.
