The file contains examples of 'the Camp', a weekly newspaper of the Hutchinson Internment Camp in Douglas, Isle of Man (self-governing crown dependency in the Irish Sea between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland). The Hutchinson Internment Camp was a World War II internment camp in Douglas, Isle of Man, particularly noted as “the artists’ camp” due to the thriving artistic and intellectual life of its internees. The newspaper reports about the activities in the camp as well as in the world, including a series of camp orders, letters and other papers from internees concerning conditions of internment and questioning the official categorisation of 'enemy aliens', instructions to internees who were about to be released and other miscellaneous papers can be also seen. Informations about art exhibitions in the camp, as well as sport events are published in the newspaper. Besides the newspaper includes articels written in German, English and Hebrew always depending on the origin and the addressee of the auther. Furthermore advertisments of shops and services run and given by the inmates are included in the newspaper. Also one example of the newspaper the "Camp Youth", written in German and English, are attached. The content of these newspaper is regarding the internments youth and the topics are regarding projects in between the different refugee youth groups and about schools and classes.
