Scope and Content
The file contains a correspondence between the office of Hans Hinkel with various institutions and organizations, covering the year 1933. Most of the material is original letters by Kurt Singer, chair of the Jüdischer Kulturbund, and copies of the responses. The letters regard permission for theater plays, letters concerning the employment of musicians and artists and general questions concerning the Jüdischer Kulturbund in Berlin. Furthermore a correspondence unraveling the difficulty to find a location with an owner willing to rent it to the Kulturbund without a direct permission of Hinkel is attached. The correspondence basicly shows, that the Jüdischer Kulturbund had to inform and ask for permission for everything they were doing.
