Scope and Content
The file contains minutes of meetings of the Jewish Cultural Reconstruction Inc, in 1950. All minutes contained in this file are regarding the collection and distribution of Nazi- confiscated heirless Jewish items and Jewish cultural property. Several topics have been discussed, such as the proposed budget, which was decreasing every year. The expenses for continuning in Germany, including freight and insurance on shipments to the United States, expenses for the headquarters and expenses connected with distribution of books and ceremonial objects in the United States were increasing. It can be seen, how many books and pamphlets were shipped out of Germany into different countries. Besides it is presented which kind of problems of allocation and distribution had been arise. Also further operations in Germany in cooperation with German librarians, museum-officials, archivists and Jewish communities, individual claims and acquisition of manuscripts have been discussed. Furthermore registers are attached were several collections are specified, these were stored by the 'German office for property control and restitution' around Germany. Also shipments of Jewish items from all over the world were in preparation.
