The file contains informations about the journey of Dr. Gerstenmaier and Dr. Schoenfeld, both German protestant theologians, to the Scandinavian countries in October 1939. Both operated as ambassadors for the ecclesiastical department of the german protestant church for foreign affairs. The German consulate and the department for foreign affairs were pleased to finance and support this journey as it was a good opportunity to descry the humour and propaganda in ecclesiastical circles in these countries. Furthermore the employment of Dr. Schoenfeld in Geneva is a topic for the German consulate, as he is an important figure in the propaganda work.
