In May 1945 President Benes' Decree No. 5 was issued, which said that all laws passed during the German occupation were null and void. Businesses and houses have to be returned to the Jewish owners. But the Decree applies only for the Czech lands, not to Slovakia. Also questions about the restitution law have been asked.
