Scope and Content

This document gives an overview of Anti-Semitism in Belgium, focusing on the following aspects: Society, Education, and Politics. Till World War II there was almost no Anti-Semitism in Belgium beyond the aristocracy and upper middle class. The majority of the Belgian people are Catholic, but the Protestant and Jewish religions are accepted as well. There are few Jewish schools in Belgium. Anti-Semitism can be found in political parties like the Vlaams Nationaal Verbond and in the several neo-Nazi organizations existing in Belgium.
