Scope and Content

The contains correspondences from August till December 1936. The topics of the letters cover several fields, like the manuscript of Iwan Heilbut, who was a journalist and writer. Inspired by the Bern trial, he wrote the script "Die Protokolle der Weisen von Zion und ihre Anwendung in der heutigen Weltpolitik." (The Protocols of the wise man of Zion and their application in today's world politics), the original title was "Hitler, der Weise von Zion bist Du! The manuscript was published with the help of Goerg Brunschvig and the Swiss Federation of Jewish Communities. Many people thought it could be a good way to deal with all the antisemitic publications during and after the Bern trial and as a response to the instrumentalization of the Bern trial, which was used as an anti-Semitic instrument and stage for Nazi propaganda. Also information about the charges against Fleischhauer for his false statements and knowingly false expertise are collected and exchanged. Furthermore newspaper cuttings and information are collected from all over the world regarding the Bern trial or the use of the Protocols of the wise man of Zion for antisemitic purposes. For example information published in the Stürmer and the Welt-Dienst have been discussed in some letters. In addition, the confiscation of anti-Semitic leaflets and books for Switzerland is being discussed.
