Scope and Content
The file contains the protocols of the fifth session of the Bern trial on the 1st of May 1935 at 2.30 pm. After the president, judge Walter Meyer opened the session Ulrich Fleischhauer was granted permission to speak again.This is the third session Fleischhauer continued to speak about the Protocols, explained his expertise statement and questioned witnesses as well as the statements of former witnesses and expertise. In addition he questioned in this session Benjamin Segel, who was an Galician author, journalist and ethnologist. He published in several newspapers and fought anti-antisemitism with his writing. With his publication The protocols of the Elders of Zion critical lit. A Deal' (1924) he undertook one of the first critical inventory of the Protocol forgery. He also gave information to Theodor Herzl and Achad Haams. Compaired their lifes and works with each other and claimed that the Protocols were genuine but of uncertain authorship, possibly composed by the Jewish author Ahad Haam.
